Success Stories

Jasper

Human aggression

Jasper’s first 1-to-1 sessions were challenging. At almost two years old, Jasper is playful and affectionate with his family, but unfamiliar people previously triggered lunging, barking, growling and biting. He showed little trust toward anyone outside his family.

It became clear that he needed more than weekly 1-to-1 sessions, so he joined our residential programme. Living and training with us in a structured environment allowed him to build trust in people.

After six weeks, he has made remarkable progress and has returned home a different dog!

Oona

Severe dog aggression

Oona’s owners struggled to take her out in public. She would constantly scan for other dogs, and when she spotted one, she would scream, lunge, and bite if approached.

Through residential training, we focused on changing her perception of other dogs. Socialisation, positive interactions, and clear guidance helped Oona learn that being aggressive is not the only choice – in fact, she discovered that other dogs can be a lot of fun!

Now, Oona and her owners can enjoy relaxed café visits and town walks. She can be safely let off the lead too and loves to play with other dogs now.

Spencer

Severe human aggression

Spencer, a Chihuahua with severe human-directed aggression, arrived anxious, neurotic, and deeply mistrustful. He saw everyone outside his family as a potential threat, making walks stressful and visits from others impossible. His human aggression far outweighed his dog aggression, suggesting he may have experienced past trauma.

During his residential programme, we worked patiently to help him feel safe, build confidence, and learn to trust people again. One of the biggest breakthroughs was introducing play — a skill that took time and effort, but ultimately transformed his emotional state.

Spencer has now returned home happier and more secure, able to navigate the world with confidence. His family can have visitors over, give him off-lead time, and he even enjoys playing with some dogs now!
